Popular FAQ: Can I Work Out After Filler Injections, or Should I Wait?
If you are someone who has something you’d like to change about your appearance, you are not alone. For some of us, that is wrinkles, fine lines, loss of volume, and other signs of aging.
Dermal fillers such as Juvéderm were made for that purpose! So, can I work out after filler injections, or do I need to wait a while?
Can I Work Out After Filler Injections, or Should I Put the Gym on Hold?
Because the treatment is uncomplicated you may wonder, “Can I work out after filler injections?” It may surprise you to learn that you should wait a couple days. Most dermatologists recommend waiting 24 to 48 hours after treatment before you exercise and here’s why.
The treatment requires the use of a tiny needle that injects the fillers under your skin. This needle, while small, still creates an opening where sweat and bacteria can enter.
For that reason, strenuous exercise and swimming should be avoided. In addition, you may experience some bruising and swelling after treatment which can make exercising a bit uncomfortable.
Keep in mind, the rules may change if you undergo dermal fillers in your cheeks, so you may need to wait longer. That may require a little more healing time, and it will be important to avoid putting pressure on those areas – no goggles, face masks, or other protective equipment.
The most important thing to remember is to listen to and follow all after-care instructions provided by your injector.
